Shire Oak (Leeds) District Scouts

Bear Grylls will be the new Chief Scout of the UK Scout Association. The famous adventurer takes over when current Chief Scout, former Blue Peter presenter Peter Duncan, completes his five year tenure in July.

The District Cub Scout Football Competition will be taking place on Sunday 5th July at Benton Park Harrogate Road Rawdon LS19 6LX FROM 10.00am until 4.00pm. This will be a fun event and will be run as a league with 3 points being awarded for a win 2 points for a draw and 1 point for those who lose. The cost will be £2.00 per player which will include refreshments. Teams will consist of 5 players and 2 reserves and rolling substitution will be encouraged although substitutes will have to play for a minimum time except in the case of injury.

The Big Adventure is a national project which helps to encourage the move from passive to active involvement.

The Big Adventure will run across the country from the beginning of May to the end of August 2009. So, if you are planning a camp, sleepover or other outdoor event this summer, then why not make it part of The Big Adventure?
